Homeopathic Immunity for 2.5 million in Cuba

THE PREVENTION OF EPIDEMIC LEPTOSPIROSIS IN CUBA

Cuba goes through a yearly cycle of Leptospirosis epidemic, especially after the hurricanes flood the countryside and water pollution reaches its height. (Leptospirosis: infectious disease caused by the spirochaete Leptospira transmitted to humans from rats, giving jaundice and kidney damage. Can cause death)

Annually the population is exposed to the disease, most especially after hurricanes.

Until Aug 2007, the Finlay Institute (a part of the Ministry of Public Health, Cuba) has been distributing its own allopathic Lepto vaccination. August is the height of the hurricane season. Annually, many are left homeless, flooded out and under the stress of disaster situation. There had been a sharp rise in the lepto epidemic.

The usual expectacy of infection even with allopathic vaccination would have been around a few thousands, with some deaths included.

Part of the reason for this is that the high cost of vaccination prevents putting but the most at-risk populations (ie children, pregnant women, elderly) on vaccination. The cost of such limited vaccination is about US $3,000.000.

But in Aug 2007, Finlay put approximately 2,500,000 people (2.5 million) in 2 provinces on homeopathic nosode prophylaxis at the cost of about only US $200,000. That figure represents the entire population of the 2 provinces. The Homeopathic Prophylaxis consisted of 2 single doses about 2 weeks apart.

But this time, within 2 weeks after Aug 2007, the infection rate literally dropped off the chart to ten infections only. Zero deaths from leptospirosis after Aug 2007. And in 2008, no deaths, infections less than 10 a month.

The Cuban team have simply followed what homeopaths know to work. And since they have no pharmaceutical multi-nationals to stop them, they were able to do it on a massive scale.

About Dra Heurgo, Dr. Bravo and the rest of the Cuban team. "Concita" as Dra Heurgo is lovingly known by the people of Cuba, is well known and loved as a woman who has done remarkable work to improve the health of the population.

Vancouver’s vibrant Commercial Drive

< name="Originator" content="Microsoft Word 9">

My father gave me a book as a Christmas gift in 1995.

It was the Reader’s Digest Encyclopedia of Homeopathy.

“This title caught my eye” he said. “Sounds weird, right up your alley…”

I had been interested in alternative and complementary health for decades.

I started to leaf through it immediately and couldn’t put the book down.

I was enchanted by Hahnemann’s vision of a system of healthcare that offered rapid, gentle, and effective cure.

By February 1996 I was enrolled in an introductory course to homeopathic home prescribing.

By 1998 I was enrolled at The Vancouver Homeopathic Academy and the rest, as they say is history…

Fast-forward to 2009, and I am delighted to be one of the homeopathic practitioners working from Access Natural Healing in the heart of Vancouver’s vibrant Commercial Drive.

El's Introduction to Homeopathy Vancouver

I would like to start from the start. The way I came across Homeopathic Healing was after years of suffering with eczema. It runs in my family. All my brothers and I have had very persistent problems with eczema. I had searched and searched for ways to help myself with this problem. All my doctors had told me there’s no way to get rid of it and that I had to learn to live with it. There was only cortisone that I could use to lessen the severity of it. I had decided that I didn’t want to use cortisone for the rest of my life and plus - it didn’t really work well enough for me.

Finally...
just by chance I was walking past a Homeopathic Clinic and thought I would stop in and ask if there was anything that they could do. Guess what happened?!!
It Worked!!!
I was shocked. Yes - it took some time. They’re not miracle workers you know. But they indeed did something that I was told was not possible. I now only regret that it took so long for me to find Homeopathy. So my goal has since then been to make sure that people who are looking for answers to their health problems find Homeopathy... sooner than later...
Hence there is now a very awesome clinic stacked full of Homeopathic Practitioners at Access Healing.

Enjoy.
All the Best,
Sincerely,
El Cecchetto

Ming Dinh, Homeopathic Practitioner

I come to homeopathy from a family of medical doctors and dentists and have inherited their desire to help others as well as their curiosity to learn more about how to solve health related problems. I am also someone who is very practical - if something works well and solves a problem that I am trying to sort out, then it is a good thing, and something I will use enthusiastically. If it doesn't, well...

My first foray into the conventional health care field was as an occupational therapist. There, I got to see a lot of what are called "side effects" and drug interactions, especially in the field of psychiatry. Some of the side effects of the medications were so severe that patients would rather suffer with their illnesses than the side effects. The conventional thinking was that these side effects, some of them quite disfiguring, were something to be accepted as the cost of treatment. This made my chosen field of work fall into the category of "things that don't work quite so well", and I lost much of my enthusiasm for conventional medicine.
I came across homeopathy by accident, through a book I had picked up on long distance walking. The author carried a homeopathic first aid kit, because of its effectiveness in treating injuries that can happen out in the woods. My curiosity was piqued and I set out to see for myself if this radically alternative form of medicine was as effective as its practitioners and patients claimed it to be. I assembled my own first aid kit and began to learn to use it on myself and my loved ones. To everyone's surprise, it worked, and worked so well as to feel like magic, when the right remedy was chosen to deal with anything from digestive upsets to motor vehicle accidents.

I decided to test out homeopathy further by going to a homeopath for help with stubborn issues with past trauma and troublesome food allergies. Once again, I experienced something that felt like magic - my troubles started disappearing bit by bit, without my having to rely on drugs or their side effects. I had finally found what I wanted to do - learn to help people without doing them any harm, while helping them with things that no conventional method can solve.

I returned to school at the Vancouver Homeopathic Academy and discovered a whole new way of looking at disease and at emotional and psychological problems. I feel that homeopathy has taught me a way of looking at the world and at people that is at once compassionate and objective, which allows me to delve deeply into their being and really be in touch with that inner core of them, the thing that needs to be healed. From this, other healings in their life follow and they can go on to experience their own "little bit of magic".

Introducing Isabel Johnston LMT, DCH

I'm a graduate of the American Medical College of Homeopathy and also the Lauderstein Conway Massage School.
I was raised with natural medicine in Lisbon, Portugal but it wasn't until moving to Canada and done raisin four children that I decided to put into practice my passion for Homeopathy and Holistic Health.
I enjoy the rewards from helping others find healing solutions to their health concerns in a gentle, natural, non-intrusive way and consider it to be a truly fulfilling gift.
